World Walks has been providing walking holidays around the world since 1998.
The principle behind our holidays is a simple one: we aim to give people the opportunity to discover fascinating places at their own pace and in their own time. In most cases, we work with local companies in each region. We do this for two reasons – so that you have a local contact while you are on holiday, and to benefit the local economies with our business
This varies from holiday to holiday and depends on the nature of the destination. Most of our holidays are self-guided, although some of the more exotic destinations will include a guide. On some occasions, meals will be included. On others, if there is a wide variety of choice in the local area, we leave it up to you. In all cases, there is a local back-up service on hand to help with general information, problems, and emergencies.Furthermore, we operate a flexible approach to our holidays. If you want them longer or shorter, please ask – it may be possible!
Meet your walking holiday agents and travel guides
An acknowledged expert on travel, Christopher has written several travel books, including the Cotswolds in England on which he is a specialist. For many years he travelled professionally around the world. He speaks fluent French and Italian and is currently writing the biography of Philip Morrell, the founder of Voyages Jules Verne and the owner of the ‘Royal Barge’.
Chris (not to be confused with Christopher!) is one of the people who will help create your holiday. He has spent all of his working life in the travel industry, travelling extensively around Europe and beyond. A passionate outdoorsman, Chris has an enthusiasm for countryside activities and sports enjoying shooting and walking; he is also an avid skier and sailor.
Ann spent a significant amount of time working in the travel industry, working in places as far afield as China, she has experienced many aspects of travel and what makes a great trip. With extensive experience of organisation and logistics from her time working at the BBC she is well placed to advise on the best destination for you and to help put together an unforgettable holiday.
Charlotte is one of the people who will book your accommodation and prepare the information for your holiday. Based in the heart of the English countryside just outside the village of Painswick, Charlotte mainly enjoys what the outdoors has to offer from the saddle. Her passion for horses means she is familiar with routes in and around the Cotswolds and England. A competitive grassroots event rider, Charlotte regularly competes in events across the country.
Daniel is a lover of the outdoors and always seeks to go for a hike wherever he has travelled, believing it to be an excellent way to see and enjoy new places. He is a particularly keen cyclist and helps put together some of the cycling trips. He can often be found walking his dog or mountain biking around the region where the office is based.
