The UK is home to an astonishing range of landscapes, from the more mountainous areas of Wales, Scotland and Northern England to the rolling hills of the south.

Being surrounded by water, walking holidays in the UK means an incredibly diverse coastline, depending on where you are in the country. In many ways the UK is an ideal walking holiday destination, with thousands upon thousands of miles of well waymarked public footpaths throughout the country. Embarking on a walking holiday in the UK is an opportunity to see this country at its best and to really appreciate the rich history, varied scenery and beauty that the country has to offer.

In a comparatively small area, the range of walking and scenery is amazing in the UK. For those after more rugged and mountainous terrain, hiking in Wales and hiking in Scotland is a good choice. Some of the best walks in Scotland are the famous West Highland Way and The Great Glen Way which take you through beautiful highland areas and past peaceful lochs. Wales is home to such iconic walks such as The Offas Dyke Path and our walks in North Wales offer sweeping views across to the famous Snowdonia range. In England, some of the most rugged terrain can be found in The Lake District. Our Lake District walks take you through beautiful areas of this national park, where you can enjoy the lush valleys, lakes and dramatic mountain scenery. Further south there are the rolling hills of The Cotswolds to be enjoyed with its pretty villages, or you can head further afield to the Channel Islands and the sunniest part of the UK for some pleasant walking.

There are many coastal walks to enjoy in the UK, such as the coast to coast walk which traverses the North of England starting at the Irish sea and finishing at The North Sea, or the Welsh coastal path which follows almost the entire coastline of wales. In the South Western corner of the UK, walking the Cornish coastline is particularly popular for its colourful wildlife and dramatic cliffs. Whether its walking holidays in England, walking holidays in Scotland or any other part of the UK, you won’t be disappointed on a walking holiday in this interesting and scenic country.
