Increasingly, yes. Air France, KLM and Emirates all offer regional departures from several UK airports (to Paris, Amsterdam and Dubai respectively). From these hub cities you switch aircraft for your onward flight to the final destination. Air France goes to Madagascar, Mali and Venezuela; KLM to Ecuador, Peru and others; and Emirates to India. We’re very happy to organise regional flights with these carriers and others (including BA and Iberia). Please contact us for details. Regional departures with direct flights are also widely available on our tours to Portugal (Faro), Catalonia (Barcelona), Canary Islands (Tenerife), Mallorca (Palma), Menorca (Mahon) and others. If there’s a flight from your local airport to join up with one of our tours, and the flight times can be made to work, we are happy to book it for you, though there may be a small additional cost.
Grading the difficulty of walks is notoriously challenging – what is easy for one person is often difficult for another. Therefore, we have opted to use four broad categories to rate our walks – Easy, Moderate, Tough, and Challenging – in order to convey an approximate sense of the difficulties involved. For example, when we rate a walk as ‘Easy,’ it generally refers to the type of terrain rather than the distance travelled. However, in such a case, the distances may still be quite long. These are listed in the itinerary section of each holiday.
For a supplementary charge, we can do this in most cases on request. Please note that this is subject to availability.
On our guided holidays, we will do our best to match you with someone else if you prefer to avoid a single room supplement. Please note that this is not always possible, but we do aim to keep the cost of the single supplement as low as possible.
When you receive your final joining instructions and tickets depends on your date of booking. But in general, we aim to send our materials out no later than two weeks before departure. Often, we send them out even earlier.
When you book a holiday with us, it is very helpful for us to have all of the relevant facts at our fingertips. It also offers you legal protection according to our terms and conditions.
In the event of a serious emergency, then you should call local emergency services just as you would at home. These numbers will be provided to you with the materials pack we send you after you book.
For minor problems, you should contact our local representatives. These numbers will also be given to you with the tour materials. They cannot always answer your calls immediately, but if you leave a message, they will get back in touch with you.
